Creating a WordPress Site Backup

Quick note to remind everyone that we currently keep full account backups from the past Sunday (weekly) and the previous two days.  If you ever need those restored or given to you for any reason, please reach out and we will help you with that.

cPanel has built-in features to allow you to easily create backups of your WordPress site and restore them if needed.

First, log into you cPanel account at https://redumbrella.ch/cpanel

On the left hand side, you should see an option that says WP Toolkit, go ahead and click that.

You should see a list of the WP sites you have installed on your account.  In the section, click on the Backup/Restore option.

A screen should slide over and give you the option to create the backup.  Simply click the Backup button and it should start.  Depending on how large your site is, this process may take a little while.  Once it's finished, you should see a notice that it completed.

Please note that these backups do count toward the storage space in your hosting plan.  If you create too many without deleting them, you may run out of space.  You can easily click the blue “wordpress-backups” link in the screenshot above and delete any old ones that you may no longer need.
